35 Wise Foods to Enjoy After Wisdom Teeth Extraction

Some of you might know that I had one wisdom tooth pulled last week. Thankfully it was just one tooth, but regardless, I wasn’t down for solid food for about two days. As you might know, it’s not exactly a good idea to munch on crackers, sushi, or apples with a brand-new hole in your mouth. That being said, who says that mashed potatoes, soup, and ice cream are the only things you can eat after oral surgery?

Here’s a little list that I compiled of pulled-teeth friendly foods!

  1. Avocado or guacamole
  2. Smashed banana with nut butter
  3. Broth
  4. Creamy rice casserole
  5. Cheesecake (yes!)
  6. Scrambled eggs with cheese (ricotta, cheddar, etc.)
  7. Oatmeal (I cooked mine with extra milk to make it a bit more liquidy)
  8. Chinese congee
  9. Couscous, cooked with extra water
  10. Cottage cheese
  11. Custard
  12. Poached eggs
  13. Ice cream, frozen yogurt, and gelato
  14. Fresh juices
  15. Macaroni and cheese
  16. Mashed potatoes
  17. Milkshakes
  18. Noodles, or noodle soup
  19. Pudding (tapioca pudding or rice pudding work too)
  20. Chocolate milk

  22. Refried beans with cheese, rice

*smoothies should NOT have berries – the seeds can get stuck the little holes in your gums
