35 Wise Foods to Enjoy After Wisdom Teeth Extraction

Some of you might know that I had one wisdom tooth pulled last week. Thankfully it was just one tooth, but regardless, I wasn’t down for solid food for about two days. As you might know, it’s not exactly a good idea to munch on crackers, sushi, or apples with a brand-new hole in your mouth. That being said, who says that mashed potatoes, soup, and ice cream are the only things you can eat after oral surgery?

Here’s a little list that I compiled of pulled-teeth friendly foods!

35 Wise Foods to Enjoy After Wisdom Teeth Extraction

  1. Avocado or guacamole
  2. Smashed banana with nut butter
  3. Broth

  7. Oatmeal (I cooked mine with extra milk to make it a bit more liquidy)
  8. Chinese congee
  9. Couscous, cooked with extra water
  10. Cottage cheese
  11. Custard
  12. Poached eggs
  13. Ice cream, frozen yogurt, and gelato
  14. Fresh juices
  15. Macaroni and cheese

  22. Refried beans with cheese, rice
  23. Green smoothies *
  24. Pureed spinach mixed in eggs, scrambled
  25. Muffins, soft ones!
  26. Warm tea (not a food, but still so soothing)
  27. Yogurt with honey
  28. Chocolate avocado mousse
  29. Peanut butter mousse
  30. Pureed squash or vegetable soups (warm butternut squash soup was my favourite)
  31. Smooth hummus

*smoothies should NOT have berries – the seeds can get stuck the little holes in your gums

  1. Try having TWO wisdom teeth that were hidden underneath a wall of gums pulled out. I literally look like a chipmunk on Thanksgiving! 😥 But thanks so much for this list of food! I hope that one day, sweet potatoes and kabocha will be on my own food list! So far it’s only soup and water XD
