Thrive Energy Lab

Hey, friends! How thrilled are you that it’s finally Saturday? The week really dragged on for me, but I’m so glad the weekend has arrived at last. 🙂

I’m going to tell you all about a place that I visited last Saturday!

You can help yourself to water, either flavored with lemon or cucumber. This also some freaking hot sauce and pink Himalayan sea salt. Utensils and napkins are also self-service as well.

I started with this cool, creamy smoothie made with banana, avocado, cashew butter, and coconut milk. The cashew butter really took this over the edge, and even though my stomach was feeling a bit queasy from the cold drink (I always have HOT drinks and feel like ice-cold things upset my tummy), I finished it all. The coconut-cashew-banana combination was incredible.

My sandwich was the Big Green Sandwich: grilled zucchini, mashed avo, artichoke hearts & kale.

Can you imagine how disappointed I was to see that there was NO zucchini, NO artichoke, and NO kale in here? Instead, there was a thick layer of hummus, sliced cucumbers, and mixed greens. It was really something that I could’ve made at home… for NOT $9.00.

The read was quite good, though! This didn’t even come close to Princess Café, Café Aroma, or homemade panini sandwiches. 😦

And whoa, was that a short post or what? Perfect timing, since I just polished off a big bowl of oatmeal and snagged another spoonful of SunButter to nibble while I type this last bit up. 😉 I’m off to do some dishes and then head to school to get some studying done before going to morning Power yoga at my school!

  1. What the…why do they say there’s zucchini, kale and artichoke in it then? That’s no fun. Artichoke is so awesome in sandwiches! I made one the other day with a sunflower seed bagel, dijon mustard, artichoke and sliced olives. Simple, but delicious! The smoothie combination sounds pretty great though!

  2. You are right. This is something that you can absolutely make it at home. You must be very disappointed. The store’s decorations is actually beautiful. I know the only thing you care is the food. Sure. At least the smoothie was good.
